To the Editor:
Kudos to the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus, for their decision to longer use elephants as one of their acts. Although elephants have for so many years thrilled audiences, as many people will agree, it is the right thing to do.
The Ringling Brothers Circus has been and will continue being a class act. Such a decision only strengthens that argument.
Also, so many people would like to see better enforcement of laws prohibiting the cruel practice of “poaching” in certain countries in order to sell the ( ivory ) tusks of elephants. This practice will lead to the extinction of the elephant.
In closing, again much applause for the efforts of the Ringling Bothers Barnum & Bailey circus, and for being such a part of the American fabric.
