SOMERSET, Mass. — A 65-year-old Pawtucket woman was killed after she lost control of her SUV, crashing and rolling over on Route 195 in Somerset, Mass., on Tuesday morning, Massachusetts State Police said.

A preliminary investigation from State Police Trooper Ivo Luis indicated that the woman – whose identity was being withheld pending family notification – was driving on Route 195 West in Somerset in a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee when, for reasons that were still under investigation as of Tuesday morning, she lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash into the median and roll over before coming to a rest. Her SUV was the only vehicle involved in the wreck, police noted.

The woman was dead at the scene, police said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, troopers assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, State Police said.
