David J. Flanagan
PAWTUCKET - David J. Flanagan, of Pawtucket, died on March 12, 2014.
Mr. Flanagan was born in Pawtucket the son of the late David J. Flanagan and Margaret (Marran) Flanagan.
He was employed at Teknor Apex in Pawtucket
David was a graduate of Rhode Island College where he excelled as a left handed pitcher on the baseball team. He was a member of the Rhode Island College Hall of Fame. David also played for the Chatham Anglers and Falmouth Commodores in the Cape Cod Baseball League.
He is survived by his children; David J. Flanagan III of Providence and Alison Flanagan of Warwick. David also leaves his brothers and sisters; William Flanagan of Pawtucket, Susan Brodeur of Providence, Kathleen McBurney of Pawtucket, and Curt Flanagan of East Providence. He was the grandfather of David J. Flanagan IV and Jason Anthony Merrit-Rave. He was the brother of the late Patricia Flanagan.
There will be a funeral service for Mr. Flanagan on Wednesday at 10 A.M. at the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. His calling hours will be Tuesday from 5-8 pm in the funeral home. For online condolences please visit
