Ernest L. Lemire
EAST PROVIDENCE- Ernest L. Lemire, 78, of Rumford Towers, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 3, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Shirley F. (Rabau) Lemire for 56 years.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Romeo and Estelle (Aubin) Lemire, he resided in South Attleboro before moving to Rumford nine months ago.
Ernie was a Korean War U.S. Navy veteran. He was employed as a lab technician at Teknor Apex for 27 years until retiring in 1997. Ernie was a Past-President of LeFoyer, Pawtucket, where he served two terms.
Besides his wife, he leaves six children, Cheryl (Don) St. Jean, Richard (Maureen) Lemire, Russell (Lee-Ann) Lemire, Sandra (Dave) Pendergrass, all of Pawtucket, Kathleen (Thomas) Ledoux of Cumberland and James (Andrea) Lemire of East Providence; two brothers, Roland Lemire of Pawtucket and Roger Lemire of Lincoln; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
His funeral with Military Honors will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Leo the Great, 697 Central Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery.
