CENTRAL FALLS—An early morning fire damaged the interior of an apartment and left four people homeless in a three-family house on High Street on Thursday.
Central Falls Fire Chief Robert Bradley said the report of the fire came in shortly after 7 a.m. He said it was a relatively small fire that was contained to one room and its contents, and was extinguished quickly.
However, the blaze caused enough damage to force the tenants to have to find alternative lodging. The Red Cross was called to provide assistance, he said.
Bradley said the fire might have been accidental, but the cause is still under investigation.
