PAWTUCKET — Police say the man suspected in a car-jacking that took place in front of the Pawtucket Post Office on Monday afternoon has been caught.
The female victim told Pawtucket Police that she had been sitting in her parked car in front of the Post Office at 40 Montgomery Street at around 4:35 p.m. when a white male opened the door and pulled her out of the vehicle. The male then entered her vehicle and drove away. The victim reported that her purse had been left in the vehicle which contained cash, personal papers, credit cards and her cell phone.
According to Pawtucket Police, the stolen vehicle, a silver 1996 Saturn LE, was recovered Tuesday on Wendell Street in Providence by the Providence Police Department.
After an investigation, a suspect was identified. Police arrested Roy Bardsley, 36, who gave police an address in Attleboro.
Bardsley was arraigned on Thursday in District Court in Providence on a charge of robbery/occupant of motor vehicle second degree.
Bail was set at $50,000 with surety, police said.
