PAWTUCKET — Get out your red and green party wear and shine up those dancing shoes. The Times, in conjunction with Grupo Amigos Da Terceira, is hosting a “Jingle Mingle” to benefit the Times “Merry Christmas Fund.”
The holiday dance event is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 1, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Community Center Grupo Amigos Da Terceira, Inc. at 55 Memorial Drive in Pawtucket. Music will be provided by Mega's DJ Music Productions., and the ticket price includes a buffet. A cash bar will also be available.
The Times Merry Christmas Fund, which benefits the Salvation Army of Pawtucket, is now in its 30th year. The fund helps provide food baskets, clothing and toys to hundreds of local families who are struggling to make ends meet. With the current economy and high unemployment rate, this type of assistance is needed more than ever.
This year, the Times has set a goal of raising $9,500 for the Merry Christmas Fund. Proceeds from the “Jingle Mingle” will go directly into the fund, while the event also promises to be a fun and festive way to kick off the holiday season.
Tickets cost $25 each or a table of 10 can be reserved for $200. The event would be a great way to hold a holiday “office party” or to meet up with friends.
Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 3, tickets can be purchased at The Times office at 23 Exchange St., Pawtucket, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or by mail, with checks payable to “The Times Merry Christmas Fund” and sent to: The Times “Jingle Mingle,” P.O. Box 307, Pawtucket, RI 02862.

A recent donation of $50 was made by Ed and Bill in memory of Betty Hammerschlag.
