CUMBERLAND - Antonio Silva, 86, of Colonial Ave. passed away Tuesday in the Oakland Grove Nursing Center, Woonsocket. He was the beloved husband of Placedia (Brito) Silva.
Born in Fall River he was the son of the late Jaime and Maria (Campos) Silva. He resided in Cumberland most of his life.
Mr. Silva was employed as the general manager of the former Howard Johnson Motor Lodge and Restaurant, Pawtucket for 30 years until his retirement.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland and a former member of the Clube Juventude Lusitana, Cumberland where he was also a member of the club band for many years. He was also a WW II, U. S. Navy veteran.
Besides his wife he leaves a brother, Manuel Silva also of Cumberland and many loving nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Joseph Silva.
A celebration of his life and funeral with military honors will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rte. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Dr., Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
