PAWTUCKET — Pawtucket Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting of four local people who were outside of a house on John Street late Tuesday night.
According to Major Arthur Martins, police responded at around 11:40 p.m. to 48 John St. in response to a shooting. Officers arrived and found four individuals who had been struck by bullets.
The victims were identified as Silvana Urbina, 37, of 48 John St.; Andre Gilbert, 18, of 48 John St.; Germaine Bruce, 18, of 230 East St.; and Davhon Shelton, 18, of 138 Woodbine St.
Martins said that the victims told police they were standing in the driveway of 48 John St. when they were approached by several males who were unknown to them. They said that one or more of the males started to shoot at them. The suspects then reportedly fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Urbina was struck in the left cheek area, Gilbert was struck in the shoulder, Bruce was hit in the abdomen and Shelton received a grazing wound to the neck area, Martins said. Urbina, Gilbert and Bruce were transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment. Shelton refused medical attention. None of the injuries were considered to be life threatening.
Police found that numerous bullets had struck the house and a nearby vehicle.
