Stacey Mary Korta
CONNECTICUT - Stacey Mary (Polefka) Korta, 91, of Buffalo, NY, beloved wife of the late Stephen E. Korta, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 29, 2011.
She was born May 25, 1920 in Pawtucket, RI, daughter of the late Frank J. and Mary (Piascik) Polefka. She spent most of her life in the Buffalo area and resided in Connecticut the past three years. She devoted her time to her family and her church. Stacey is survived by her son, Stephen E. Korta, II and his wife, Debra of Marlborough, her two grandchildren Elizabeth Mastrogiannis and her husband, Panos, and Peter Korta and his fiance, Rachel, and her two great-grandchildren Alexander and Marianna Mastrogiannis. She is also survived by her sister Eileen Cekala and her husband, Chester, and many nieces and nephews. Stacey was predeceased by her sisters and brothers-in-law Frances and Stanley Nimiroski and Genevieve and Joseph Starosciak.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 1st from 4 - 7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Additional calling hours, a Mass of Christian Burial, and burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery will take place in Amherst, NY on Saturday, December 3, 2011, with arrangements being made through the Amigone Funeral Home.
