NORTH PROVIDENCE - Fouad Shammo, 68 of North Providence died on Tuesday at Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main St., Providence. He was the husband of Diana (Doumato) Shammo.
Born in Lebanon, a son of the late Ilbrahim and Nahiba (Salibi) Shammo, he had resided in North Providence for 17 years. Prior to retirement about 2001, he had been employed as a machinist at Electric Boat Yard. He was a member of the Masons, enjoyed cooking and was completely devoted to his family. He was a communicant of St. Ephraim's Syrian Orthodox Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Robert Shammo with whom he lived and a daughter, Carmen Abed of North Providence and two grandchildren; two sisters, Souad Hajjar, Yasmin Farjo and one brother Aoud Shammon, all of the Middle East.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 29th, in St. Ephraim's Syrian Orthodox Church, 175 Washington St., Central Falls. Calling hours in the church will be on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
