William J. Wunschel
CUMBERLAND - William "Pete" J. Wunschel 88 died Friday at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the husband of Thelma P. (Pearson) Wunschel. They were married for over sixty years.
Born in Pawtucket a son of the late Anton and Alice (Robert) Wunschel. He lived in Cumberland for the past fifty eight years.
He was an Army veteran serving during WWII.
Mr. Wunschel was a driver salesman for Harvest Bakery and also worked for Providence Casket Company, Lincoln.
Besides his wife he leaves two sons Wayne A. Wunschel and his wife Jayne of Marion , Iowa and William J. Wunschel, Jr. and his wife Sandra of Riverside, one brother Carl A. Wunschel of Coventry, two grandchildren Heather and Timothy Wunschel both of Pawtucket and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Lillian Dexter, Irene Russell and Dorothy Dugal.
He was a devoted parishioner of Christ Church, Lincoln, a member of the Valley Singers, AARP Chapter # 4646, St. Aidan's Senior Club, Cumberland Senior Center and the New England Teamsters Local # 54.
Pete was a strong, loyal, generous and loving man who always put family and friends first.
A Requiem Eucharist will be held on TUESDAY at 10am in Christ Church 1643 Lonsdale Ave. Lincoln. Burial with Military Honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call MONDAY 4-7pm at BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL 160 River Rd. Lincoln.
