William H. Sullivan
PAWTUCKET - William H. Sullivan, 83, of Columbus Ave., Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 9, 2013.
Born in Dorchester, MA, he was the son of the late William and Louise (Treanor) Sullivan. He moved to Pawtucket in 1950 when he married his beloved late wife, Geraldine (Ward) Sullivan with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.
Bill was a devoted member of St. Teresa Parish and was active in the seniors group helping to coordinate their many trips. He was also a member of the choir. Bill worked at Fleet Bank for 25 years until his retirement. In his retirement years, he spent many hours volunteering with Hospice. His compassion for people helped many find peace in their final days. He always had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor. Once you met Bill as he was known, you didn't forget him.
He leaves four children, Mary Booth and her husband, Robert of Pawtucket, Dan Sullivan and his wife, Susan of Attleboro, Ann Marquard and her husband, David of Lincoln and David Sullivan and his wife, Dianne of Westwood, MA and a sister, Margaret DeLuca of Taunton. He was the loving grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of four. He was the brother of the late Barbara Guest, Paul, Jack and Richard Sullivan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Wednesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 or St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, RI 02861 will be appreciated.
