ATTLEBORO - William F. Johannis, 80 died on Monday at the LifeCare Center of Attleboro. He was the beloved companion of Constance (Primeau) Doran.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Francis and Hedwige (Klein) Johannis, he graduated from Agricultural High School in Attleboro and was employed for many years as a lineman for AT&T. During the Korean War, he served in the US Navy as a member of the Destroyer Escort Service, Section A.
Besides his beloved companion Constance (Primeau) Doran, survivors are two sons: Paul Johannis of San Francisco, CA and Peter Johannis of N. Smithfield, RI; two daughters: Kathleen St. Cyr of Dedham, MA and Karen Ruggierio of Swansea, MA; one brother: Robert Johannis of Barrington, RI; one sister: Barbara Wroten of Jacksonville, FL and eight grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM from the DARLINGTON MORTUARY OF L. HEROUX & SON, 1042 Newport Ave., Pawtucket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 385 Newport Ave., Seekonk. Calling hours in the funeral home will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday. Burial will be in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the American Diabetes Association, 222 Richmond St., Providence, RI 02906 would be appreciated.
