Wilfred J. Marquis
CUMBERLAND - Wilfred J. "Bill" Marquis, 82, of Brookdale Street died Friday, April 8, 2011 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the beloved husband of Doris A. (Latour) Marquis.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Homer and Edwilda (Bonin) Marquis, he had lived in Cumberland for the past 32 years.
Mr. Marquis was a carpet installer for Ruggieri Flooring, Cranston for 25 years, retiring in 1990.
He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and was a communicant of St. Aidan's Church, Cumberland.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Wilfred J. Marquis, Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Cumberland, David Marquis of Pawtucket, Robert Marquis and U.S. Army Platoon Sgt. Ronald Marquis, both of Cumberland; four grandchildren, Wilfred J. Marquis III, Eric, Keith and Jennifer Marquis; one great grandson, Preston Marquis; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Homer and Ernest Marquis.
His funeral will be held WEDNESDAY, APRIL 13 at 9 A.M. from BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. Aidan's Church, 1460 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial, with military honors, will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Cumberland.
