Walter T. Stadnicki
ATTLEBORO - Walter T. Stadnicki 98, of Canterbury Woods and formerly of Hastings Avenue Pawtucket passed away Thursday December 13, 2012 at his residence. He was the beloved husband of the late Genevieve A. (Poholek) Stadnicki. They were married for 70 years and wintered in Florida for 30 years.
Born in Pawtucket he was a son of the late Charles and Apolonia (Blecharczyk) Stadnicki.
Before retiring Walter owned and operated Stad Distributing of Pawtucket for 50 years.
Walter was a WWII Army Air Force Veteran serving as a Sergeant with the Personnel Distributing Command Headquarters. He was a member of the Fierlit-Korzen A.L. Post 79 of Central Falls and a former 50 year member of the Pawtucket Country Club. He and his wife traveled around the world and witnessed the Coronation Ceremony of Pope John Paul II.
He leaves his loving family one daughter Carolee Welden and her husband James of Port Orange, Fl, one son Thomas W. Stadnicki of Rehoboth, one brother Henry Stad of Rumford, and one grandson, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Stella Gnys, Josephine Turrow and Lt. Frank Stadnicki.
His funeral with Military Honors will be held Tuesday December 18, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. from the Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home 342 High Street Central Falls with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Josephs Church 391 High Street Central Falls at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend and may call at the Funeral Home Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations to St. Josephs Church Renovation Fund would be greatly appreciated. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
