Vincenzo M. DiIorio
PAWTUCKET - Vincenzo M. "Vincent" DiIorio 79 died Sunday at his home. He was the husband of the late Norma P. (Daley) DiIorio.
Born in Providence he was the son of the late Filippo and Antonietta (Coia) DiIorio. He moved to Pawtucket in 1955.
After serving as a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict, he received his BS Degree in Accounting from Providence College in 1959 and began his career as a Sales Representative for Metropolitan Life Ins Co. retiring after 42 years of service. He served as Treasurer of both St. Teresa Bowling League and the JK Social Club of Pawtucket. He was a member of the Striper Marina of Barrington for over 30 years. Mr. DiIorio was instrumental in the formation of the Model Cities Hockey Association and the Woodlawn Little League and held membership in both clubs.
Surviving are one son Thomas M. and his wife Diane DiIorio of Attleboro, MA One granddaughter Stephanie DiIorio of Warwick, and one grandson Cameron DiIorio of Pawtucket. One brother Philip C. DiIorio of North Stonington CT and the late Mafalda Tetreault.
The Funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00am from the Cheetham Mortuary 1012 Newport Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am in St Mary's Church Pine Street followed by burial in Mt St Mary's Cemetery with Military Honors. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday at Cheetham Mortuary 4-8pm.
