John T. Gannon Sr. (WITH PHOTO AND FLAG) PAWTUCKET - John T. Gannon Sr., 85, of Roosevelt Ave, Pawtucket died Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Home and Hospice Care of RI in Providence. He was the husband of the late Lillian (Thurber) Gannon. Mr. Gannon was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Matthew and Anna (Dunleavy) Gannon. He was a WWII Army Veteran where he attained the rank of Sergeant while serving in Italy, Southern France and Germany. Mr. Gannon was a machinist at Peerless Precision in Pawtucket. He then worked for the Pawtucket Housing Authority for many years. Mr. Gannon is survived by his children, John T. "Jack" Gannon, Esq. of Pawtucket, James M. Gannon of Lincoln, Virginia Benoit of Seekonk, MA, and Veronica Gannon of Pawtucket, his grandchildren, Thomas, Jeffray, and Michele Benoit, Sean, Patrick, Katherine, and Julia Gannon and his great grandchildren, Isabella Precourt, Lucy Benoit, and Tobias Quinn Benoit. He also leaves his brothers, Raymond Gannon of Pawtucket and Matthew Gannon of Cumberland. He was the brother of the late Mary McHale, Joseph Gannon, Margaret Durkin, Thomas Gannon and Agnes Gannon. The funeral for Mr. Gannon will be Tuesday, October 6, at 9:00 am from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME 68 Broadway, Pawtucket with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church, Walcott St, Pawtucket at 10:00 am. His burial with full Military Honors will be in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery, Pawtucket. The calling hours will be Monday 4-7pm in the funeral home.
