PROVIDENCE — Gov. Donald L. Carcieri officially delivered the oath of office to Kristin E. Rodgers as Associate Justice of the Rhode Island Superior Court as colleagues, family and friends looked on.
Judge Rodgers was joined by her husband Scott Raynes, their daughter Sydney, her mother Donna and her father, Rhode Island Superior Court Presiding Justice Joseph F. Rodgers, Jr. “With more than 15 years experience in private practice to her tenure as Assistant Town Solicitor in East Greenwich, Kristen Rodgers is a highly skilled attorney with a strong record of accomplishment,” said Gov. Donald L. Carcieri. “With diverse experience in both civil and criminal matters, Kristen has a thorough understanding of the law. She has keen analytical abilities and strong consensus building skills. She is known for conducting herself with the very highest degree of professionalism and integrity, for her sterling character and for her civility. I am confident Kristin will serve with integrity and honesty.” Attending the swearing in ceremony were members of the Rhode Island Judiciary including Rhode Island Supreme Court Chief Justice Paul A. Suttell, Rhode Island general office holders, Senator Michael J, McCaffrey, House Speaker William J. Murphy, members of the Rhode Island General Assembly, and family and friends of Kristin Rodgers. Superior Court Associate Justice Susan E. McGuirl served as Master of Ceremonies. Rev. Bernard A. Healey gave the Invocation and Benediction. The National Anthem was performed by Inspector Luis Del Rio of the Providence Police Department.
