Iannetta on disabled list E-mail
Monday, 25 May 2009
Chris Iannetta, the St. Raphael alum, was placed on the 15-day disabled list disabled list on Sunday with a strained right hamstring, the move made prior to the finale of Colorado’s interleague series in Detroit.
The injury occurred Saturday while Iannetta was running the bases. He was rounding third base on a Garrett Atkins single, but he felt his hamstring tighten as he neared the bag. But by the time 25-year-old made it to third base, the pain had severely worsened, and he pulled up three steps past the bag.
This marks Iannetta’s first ever trip to the DL in his three-year career. He was in the midst of a 0-for-9 drought before going 2-for-3 with a home run and a double on Saturday. In 31 games for the Rockies this season, Iannetta is hitting .231 with eight homers and 18 RBI.
