By DONNA KENNY KIRWAN PAWTUCKET — Before you head off to the mall this Sunday, why not stop off at St. Teresa’s Church and enjoy a hot, hand-cooked breakfast? And bring the kids and the cameras, because Santa will be holding court there as well.
It’s all part of the annual “Breakfast With Santa” that will be held from 8-11:30 a.m. in St. Teresa’s Church Hall, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. The event, featuring chef Joe Sadlier, is sponsored by the St. Teresa’s Church & #57 Delaney Council Knight of Columbus. All proceeds benefit the Times “Merry Christmas Fund,” established to help needy families through the Pawtucket Salvation Army. The menu features pancakes, ham, sausage, scrambled eggs, home fries, baked beans, juice, coffee, assorted pastry. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children. Joe Sadlier, otherwise known as “The Pie Man,” has organized and cooked for this event for over 15 years. “I do it because it’s needed,” he said. “And it’s also a lot of fun. I get to meet a lot of people, and see the kids grow up. Many of the same families come back year after year.”
