DIGHTON --- Junior halfback Joe Teixeira had a strong contest offensively and Seekonk High’s defense forced four turnovers in the fourth quarter en route to a 13-3 victory over South Coast Conference rival Dighton-Regional Regional on Thursday at the Falcons’ Roy Field. The victory was the Warriors’ third over the Falcons in the last four seasons and allows them to conclude their regular season with a 6-4 record -- good for their second straight season with a winning record. Teixeira, who scored both of the Warriors’ touchdowns, helped the visitors erase a 3-0 lead by scoring on a four-yard sweep off the right tackle as time ran out in the second quarter. Seekonk quarterback Matt Quinn, who was 5-of-9 for 83 yards passing, completed four passes in the final 58 seconds to set up that score. Teixeira finished the game with 78 yards on the ground, but picked up 65 of them on his second touchdown run in the final minutes of the third quarter. After that touchdown, the Warriors’ ‘D’ came up big in the final 10 minutes and sewed up the triumph by recovering a pair of fumbles and intercepting two passes. D-R still leads the series, 23-21.
