By DONNA KENNY KIRWAN PAWTUCKET — Police are still searching for a young, black male suspect who they believe to be responsible for at least three armed robberies that have occurred in the city over three consecutive days.
The most recent incident occurred on Friday at around 5:09 p.m., when police were called to the Ocean State Job Lot at 470 Pawtucket Avenue. A male suspect, with his face concealed by a handkerchief, robbed the clerk with a knife. On Thursday around 6:50 p.m., a male suspect entered Ama’s Variety Market at 957 Main St. Keeping his face concealed, the suspect approached the female clerk at the counter with one arm inside his pants, and gestured as though he had a weapon. He demanded money from the clerk, and she turned over an undermined amount of cash, at which time he fled the store. On Wednesday at around 2:28 p.m., a male suspect armed with a large knife entered the A & I Convenience Store at 191 Pawtucket Avenue and demanded money from the female clerk. The suspect obtained an undetermined amount of cash and fled the store. The suspect has been described by several witnesses in these crimes as appearing to be in his 20s, with a thin to medium build and approximately 5’10 to 6 feet tall. Detectives say they are investigating similarities between all three armed robberies. Anyone with information is asked to contact Pawtucket Police Detective Donti Rosciti at 727-9100, ext. 737.
