Times Photo/Butch Adams BY VINAYA SAKSENA CENTRAL FALLS — Police are investigating two stabbings that allegedly occurred in the past few days, though few details of the incidents are currently known.
Police responded to the first incident shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, with an ambulance crew seen attending to the victim from in front of a building on School Street. According to Lt. James Mendonca of the Central Falls Police Department, the victim was transported to a hospital. The incident, initially believed to be a shooting, was determined to have actually been a stabbing. A Times photographer who was on the scene reported seeing a dark-haired man in a baseball cap with blood on his bandaged arm in the rescue vehicle. No suspects or motive had been identified by police as of press time. See STABBINGS, Page A-2 According to Captain Kevin Guindon of the Central Falls Police Detective Division, the victim appeared to have run into a group of youths, who allegedly assaulted him. The act, he said, appeared to be random. On Wednesday night, police learned of a second alleged stabbing, involving a second male victim. Guindon said he could not comment on the incident at length, but indicated that it appeared to have followed a boyfriend/ girlfriend argument. No suspects in the second alleged stabbing had been announced as of press time. Guindon pointed out that the two stabbings were not believed to be related. “They’re isolated incidents from what I understand,” Guindon said. “They’re just arguments that turned into stabbings.”
