Shots fired during robbery of Social Club |

By DONNA KENNY KIRWAN PAWTUCKET — Police are searching for two male suspects in connection with an armed robbery where several shots were fired that took place early Saturday morning at the Esperanza Social Club at 212 Weeden St., Pawtucket Police said.
According to Pawtucket Police, two armed males entered the club at around 2 a.m. and robbed several patrons who were inside. When one of the patrons refused to surrender his wallet, one of the suspects allegedly discharged a handgun an unknown number of times. No one was injured, however. Police said that after robbing several patrons and taking the club’s cash box, the suspects fled the area on foot. Police say that the suspects both wore masks. Based on their spoken language as described by witnesses, are believed to be of Cape Verde descent. One suspect was described as being 5’11” with a thin build and the other was approximately 5’8” tall with a skinny build.
