By JON BAKER LINCOLN — There’s good news for those choosing to take advantage of Twin River’s recent expansion to “24/3” (that is, all-night weekend and holiday) operations.
In a special meeting Thursday night, the Town Council/Board of License Commissioners voted unanimously to extend the same courtesy to the Food Court and Biscotti’s Bakery. As always, the restaurants and pubs serving alcoholic beverages will close at 1 a.m. “We’re here because this is standing operational procedure,” said Craig Sculos, Twin River’s vice president and general manager. “The Town Charter dictates that if we, or any establishment in town, wants to change the hours of operation, we have to go before the Board of License Commissioners. “This is just a matter of feeding the customers if they decide they want to spend time at the casino on the weekends, or during holidays, at night,” he added. “It allows patrons to have access to foods and coffee, those kinds of things, but not alcoholic beverages.” “We have four outlets downstais, and an additional three upstairs. These are more fast food-type or concession-like operations … We did not seek extensions to the restaurants. We (at Twin River) obviously understand it’s likely a patron would prefer that (fast-food) kind of thing as opposed to a 48-ounce steak at, say, 3:30 a.m.. “We’re very pleased and thankful for the commissioners’ decision.” |
