Pawtucket police net alleged dealers E-mail

PAWTUCKET — Last month was a busy one for the Pawtucket Police Department, including Cash, the narcotic detection dog, as four local residents were netted on substantial drug charges.

On May 16, Miguel Peralta, 47, of 11 Nancy St., 1st, was arrested on several felony drug charges following a traffic stop at the intersection of Broadway and Japonica Street. During a subsequent search of the vheicle and Peralta’s apartment by police and Cash, the department’s dog, five bags of cocaine were discovered.
Peralta was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, drug distribution, maintaining ing a common nuisance, and controlled substance conspiracy, police said. Police seized the drugs, valued at $700.  He was he was held without bail pending a June 2 hearing on a district violation.
On May 20, Johanna Echevarria, 27, of 560 Prospect Heights, #187, was arrested after an investigation by the police department’s Special Squad allegedly found her in possession of two bags of marijuana and alarge clear bag containing 10 small bags of crack cocaine.
Echevarria was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, and maintaining a common nuisance, all felonies, and failure to appear/answer a summons, a misdemeanor. In addition to the drugs, valued at $780, police also seized a digital scale and $53 in cash.
Echevarria was taken to the ACI pending a hearing.
On May 23, Joseph Rocha, 29, of 72 John St., was arrested by the Special Squad after police allegedly found three plastic bags containing crack cocaine in his possession. Police searched his car folliiwng a traffic stop on Cross Street and his apartment, and seized the drugs, which had a total value of $750, police said.
Rocha was held without bail pending a May 24 hearing on a distriction violation.
Stemming from an investigation and a traffic stop on Pleasant Street on May 28,  Joel M. Cavanugh, 21 of 9 Shoreham Ct., apt. 1, was arrested on five felony drug charges, police said.
According to police, a search of Cavanaugh’s apartment turned up a large quantity of drugs including crack cocaine, heroin and marijuana, with a total value of $7,000. In addition to the drugs, police also seized three digital scales, over $6,800 in cash and zip-lock plastic bags.
Cavanaugh was charged with possession of cocaine, heroin and marijuana with intent to deliver, maintaining a common nuisance, and distribution of a controlled substance near a school, police said. Additionally, police discovered that he had a outstanding District Court warrant for failure to appear on a disorderly conduct charge.
Cavanaugh was held without bail until a May 29 hearing.

There are no good breakfast places now that Tigger's burned down.
The sidewalks are rolled up before 7pm and there is a lack of a friendly atmosphere.
I just returned from England and the people there bent over backwards to help us
out and were treated us like visiting dignitaries. There is nothing to do
at night except drink alcohol and heaven forbid if you drive afterward.  I don't
really know what can be done but it's an unfriendly place.
