SEEKONK — One of Seekonk High School’s top students is involved in conservation and another enjoys the arts, making them well-rounded standouts in Seekonk High School’s Class of 2008.

With her number one ranking among 181 seniors, Molly Beauchemin has earned the title of valedictorian in the commencement exercises that will be held Sunday, June 8.
On top of a heavy courseload that included four advanced placement courses, Beauchemin found the time to participate in three varsity sports and also served as captain of the girls cross country team.
She was one of the founding members of the “Peer Helping Network” at the high school and is also a member of the school’s Key Club and Math Team. In addition, she was selected for the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society.
Off campus, Beauchemin has been active in conservation issues in her hometown and has been a member of the Seekonk Land Trust for the past two years.
The daughter of Bernard and Patricia Beauchemin, Molly plans on heading south to the University of Virginia this fall.
Taking the number two spot in the Class of ‘08 is Caitlyn Corrao.
While also balancing the heavy workload of four advanced placement courses, salutatorian Corrao participated in the Rhode Island School of Design’s “Young Artist Program” throughout high school. She also played varsity soccer for all four years at SHS, serving as co-captain while a senior.
Named to both the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society, Corrao was a student council chairperson, a member of the school’s Key Club for three years and Math Team for two years.
The daughter of Jeffrey and Anita Corrao, Caitlyn also intends to head south, to the University of Tampa.

I love the fact that the bridge is now open again and it didn't
take as long as I thought!  Good work!

R. Veveiros - Pawtucket

There are no good breakfast places now that Tigger's burned down.
The sidewalks are rolled up before 7pm and there is a lack of a friendly atmosphere.
I just returned from England and the people there bent over backwards to help us
out and were treated us like visiting dignitaries. There is nothing to do
at night except drink alcohol and heaven forbid if you drive afterward.  I don't
really know what can be done but it's an unfriendly place.
