By VINAYA SAKSENA CUMBERLAND — A Glocester man was arrested on numerous charges related but not limited to vehicle theft Thursday night. According to local police, still more charges may be forthcoming.
Liam P. Lambert, 23, of 45 Laurel Drive, Glocester, was arrested in the Grand Avenue area Thursday at around 10:30, police said. He was picked up on a warrant, and on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle/parts; driving after denial, suspension or revocation of a license; domestic simple assault/battery; disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, motor vehicle theft and receiving stolen goods, a misdemeanor. The arrest followed a tip from a caller who saw Lambert in the area and knew of the warrant for his arrest. That warrant had reportedly been issued by Glocester police on a larceny charge. Police reported finding Lambert in a Nissan Xterra that had been reported stolen. When officers arrived, Lambert was allegedly involved in a physical altercation with a 19-year-old man identified as his brother, hence the domestic simple assault charge. According to police, Lambert fought with police as they tried to arrest him. His brother does not face any charges, police said. Lambert was held overnight for arraignment Friday in Sixth District Court, police said. Police said he may face additional charges stemming from larceny investigations in other communities. |
