PAWTUCKET — The historic William Park House located on Walnut Street will be featured in an episode of HGTV’s “If Walls Could Talk” that will air Monday at 5 p.m.

For local subscribers of Cox Communications, HGTV is on channel 44.
The stately home, built in 1910 in Pawtucket’s Quality Hill neighborhood, was highlighted as “Local Home of the Week” in the The  Times’ Blackstone Valley Homes real estate section.
Joe Asermely, a Pawtucket native, purchased the 6,000-square foot, Tudor-style mansion in 1998 and rescued it from years of neglect. With the help of his father, Asermely said he did most of the work himself, turning it into back into an elegant and comfortable living space for himself and two tenants.
The home, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was designed by R.C. Monahan, an architect noted for his work on many of the mansions in the Oak Hill and Quality Hill neighborhoods. It served as the longtime home of William Park, a successful local banker, and his wife, Anna.
According to its site, the popular series, “If Walls Could Talk” focuses on the “lore and mystique from homes rich in history — some good, some notorious.” The program is hosted by Mike Siegel.
This is the second time that Asermely’s home has been in the limelight. In 2001, the William Park House was shown on a cable TV program called “Restore America.”

I love the fact that the bridge is now open again and it didn't
take as long as I thought!  Good work!

R. Veveiros - Pawtucket

There are no good breakfast places now that Tigger's burned down.
The sidewalks are rolled up before 7pm and there is a lack of a friendly atmosphere.
I just returned from England and the people there bent over backwards to help us
out and were treated us like visiting dignitaries. There is nothing to do
at night except drink alcohol and heaven forbid if you drive afterward.  I don't
really know what can be done but it's an unfriendly place.
