PAWTUCKET —  Unsightly vinyl siding, squirrel infestation, long-obsolete window sizes and overgrown shrubs were just some of the problems encountered by the brave souls who in recent years purchased old properties in the city.

Head-on collision in Lincoln E-mail

LINCOLN — A car traveling the wrong way down Route 99 early Sunday morning struck a Ford Explorer head on, launching the truck over the jersey barrier, where it immediately burst into flames after ejecting the driver. At around 2:15 a.m., there was a call for a motor vehicle accident on Route 99 northbound and southbound.
Firefighters found the truck in the southbound lane fully involved with flames, while the car in the northbound lane was resting up against the guardrail with heavy front end damage
The truck was traveling on 99 north in the northbound lanes when the car was traveling south on the same side of the highway.
The driver of the car suffered cuts on his face, while the driver of the truck suffered arm injuries. Both drivers were taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. On the scene were Manville Fire, Lincoln rescue and Cumberland Fire and rescue personnel. The State Police are investigating the collision.
