BY VINAYA SAKSENA CENTRAL FALLS — A drive-by shooting occurred early Tuesday afternoon, but did not result in any deaths or injuries, according to police.
Details of the shooting were not clear as of presstime, as the incident remained under investigation, according to police. However, Col. Joseph Moran, the city’s police chief, said fatalities or injuries appear to have been avoided. “I can tell you that nobody was hurt,” Moran said. According to Moran, police received a report of a shooting at 12:54 p.m. on Tuesday. He said the incident appeared to have taken place near the intersection of Dexter and Darling streets. The site of the shooting appeared to be in the area of a cash advancement business and a financial services company. Neither the suspect nor the victim had been identified as of press time, and a motive for the shooting was not known, according to Moran. The Times received unconfirmed information indicating that a silver sport utility vehicle was seen fleeing the area. |
