By DONNA KENNY KIRWAN PAWTUCKET — A 21-year-old Cranston woman accused in the stabbing death of her ex-boyfriend in February was ordered held without bail in the Adult Correctional Institution by a Superior Court judge on Wednesday.
According to Pawtucket Police, Misty Ospina, of 935 Pontiac Ave., allegedly stabbed Richard Gibson, 22, of Thornton St., Pawtucket, with a kitchen knife during an argument in his apartment on Feb. 1. Gibson was the father of Ospina’s baby daughter, but the couple had broken up several months before. Ospina had been dropping off the child that morning when the argument occurred, police said. Gibson was transported to the Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about and hour and a hald after the stabbing occurred. According to Michael Healey, spokesman for the attorney general, Ospina’s bail hearing began on Tuesday. Superior Court Judge Francis J. Darigan Jr. ordered Ospina held without bail on a first degree murder charge, pending a pre-trial conference on April 14.
