$15K stolen from home in Lincoln E-mail
Wednesday, 02 April 2008

By JON BAKER

LINCOLN  ---  One or more perpetrators robbed approximately $15,000 in cash from a home on Lladnar Drive during the early- to mid-afternoon hours Monday, leaving a female resident predictably upset, according to police.

Patrolmen Walter Ptaszek and Brian Molis responded to a call at about 4 p.m., and spoke with the woman, who indicated $2,000 of her family’s money had been stolen from a newly-installed wall safe, not to mention passports belonging to her and her husband.
Also taken was an estimated $13,000 being held for her father-in-law for “safekeeping.” All contents had been stored in a green vinyl bank bag.
The victim explained to police that she had left the residence at about 11:30 a.m., returning at about 1:30 p.m., to get the handbag she had left in the kitchen.
At that time, according to the police report, she noticed the rear door had been opened during her absence. She then surveyed the first floor, but because she found nothing out of the ordinary, secured that door and left the house again.
When the woman returned again shortly before 4 p.m., she discovered the contents of multiple bureau drawers strewn on the floor of the second-level master bedroom. At that point, the  woman saw the former floor safe, now emptied, had been opened with its key, as had the new digital safe, which had a key as a backup in case of power failure.
What seemed strange to police was this: Nothing else inside the home had been disturbed, despite the fact that it featured a sizable inventory of expensive electronic units, jewelry and other valuables.
While investigating the basement, Molis and Ptaszek found that a small window toward the back of the home had been shattered from the outside, and noticed boot and/or shoe marks on the wall directly below that window.
Det. William Harty processed the scene, and police continue to investigate the felony breaking and entering case.

I love the fact that the bridge is now open again and it didn't
take as long as I thought!  Good work!

There are no good breakfast places now that Tigger's burned down.
The sidewalks are rolled up before 7pm and there is a lack of a friendly atmosphere.
I just returned from England and the people there bent over backwards to help us
out and were treated us like visiting dignitaries. There is nothing to do
at night except drink alcohol and heaven forbid if you drive afterward.  I don't
really know what can be done but it's an unfriendly place.
