Here's How to Publish Results in The Times E-mail
Monday, 26 November 2007
The Times' Community Scoreboard section is looking for organized recreational results and local sports news.
This is also the time of the year when we ask coaches of league championship teams to submit their team photos by email or call The Times at (401) 727-9292 to have their squad photographed by one of our staffers.
If your league is interested in having weekly results and standings published, please submit them by mail (The Times, Sports Dept., Box 307, Pawtucket, (02860), e-mail ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ), or by fax (401-727-9280).
If your submission does not appear in the paper in a timely manner, please resubmit by email or call (401) 727-9292 after 5 p.m. for further instructions.
Youth baseball and softball leagues are advised to send in their results on a weekly basis, including scores, standings and highlights. These stories are best sent in to our email box, attached as a word document.
Or they may be sent as a straight email.
Youth leagues may also send tryout notices to The Times by email or fax. If you do not see your notice published, please submit the story over again.

Saturday night I attended the semi-final girls basketball
game vs Townies Girls team as an aunt of one of the EP players. It was an exciting
all-around game for both teams, and I give credit to my niece and the Townie girls
too for a great season.  <br />I just have to say though, that I was
particularly impressed with the talent, poise and unflappable playing style of this
Tolman girls team! It can only speak well of a great coaching staff, and their love
and encouragement of these talented girls. After the game, the low-key humilty that
the Tolman girls displayed, showed real sportsmanship and class. I have a feeling
that this season is the "Year of the Tiger" and hope that they go straight on to
victory in the championship. No matter what the outcome though, they've gained a new
loyal fan in me, and I look forward to following the next seasons with real
interest. This is the way that high school sports should be played! You go Tolman
girls! - Regina Orio
