Four arrested for fight near Jenks |

By DONNA KENNY KIRWAN PAWTUCKET — Four juveniles were arrested on South Bend Street on Monday after police received a report about a possible fight involving weapons near Jenks Junior High School at dismissal time.
According to Detective Lt. Daniel Mullen, no fight actually occurred, but when police arrived at the school at around 2:35 p.m., they saw a group of juveniles gathered on nearby South Bend Street. Mullen said that when police told the youths to move along, they did not cooperate. Upon further investigation by police, several of the youths were found to have various weapons, including knives and a chain, according to the police report. See FIGHT, page A-2 Mullen said that one female and three males, ranging in age from 15 to 17, were taken into custody. All four were charged with disorderly conduct, and three had additional charges for weapons other than firearms prohibited. One of the youths, a 15-year old, was additionally charged with contempt of court for violating a Family Court order of home confinement related to a previous incident. Mullen said that all four were taken to the state training school pending court hearings. Of the four teens arrested, only the female was a student at Jenks Junior High School, Mullen noted.
