EAST PROVIDENCE --- Quarterback Robbie Delgado ran for a career-high 133 yards and tailback Emerson Perez scored three touchdowns for East Providence High on Friday night in the Townies’ 35-6 victory over winless North Kingstown High at Pierce Field. The Townies are now 4-1 in Division I play and can book early reservations for the playoffs next Friday night by defeating Rogers High at Toppa Field in Newport. The Townies broke open a close game by scoring 21 points in the second quarter, and they kept the Skippers off the board until the final minutes of the third quarter. Delgado scored the game’s first touchdown in the first quarter on a five-yard keeper, and in the second quarter, the Townies reached the end zone on a one-yard run by Perez, a three-yard run by Ryan Bellamy, and a 20-yard pass from Delgado to Perez. Perez’s last touchdown came on a nine-yard carry early in the third quarter, and Aaron Spivey went 5-for-5 on extra point attempts. *** North Kingstown 0 0 6 0 --6 East Providence 7 21 7 0 --35 EP – Robbie Delgado 5 run (Aaron Spivey kick) EP – Emerson Perez 1 run (Aaron Spivey kick) EP – Ryan Bellamy 3 run (Aaron Spivey kick) EP – Emerson Perez 20 pass from Robbie Delgado (Aaron Spivey kick) EP – Emerson Perez 9 run (Aaron Spivey kick) NK – Robbie Walker-Williams 35 pass from Matt Berglund (run failed), 2:49
