By DONNA KENNY KIRWAN PAWTUCKET — A 15-year-old male who abandoned the stolen car he was driving after a pursuit by Pawtucket Police was apprehended at a house in Central Falls on Wednesday evening, police said.
According to Pawtucket Police Detectives Lt. Daniel Mullen, a red Honda Civic containing three youths was observed driving erratically on Weeden Street at around 5:34 p.m. A Pawtucket Police officer began a pursuit of the vehicle, and the driver continued to Barton Street and then headed into Central Falls. Mullen said that the driver traveled down Rand Street to Pine Street and continued to take turns on a series of streets. He continued on Tiffany Street and then to Park Street, which is a dead end. At the end of Park Street, the three youths abandoned the car and fled in the direction of Higginson Avenue. The one police officer who had been pursuing the vehicle followed the driver on foot. With the assistance of Central Falls Police, the driver was located in the basement of a house at 840 Lonsdale Ave, Mullen said. The two passengers managed to escape. The driver, who lives in Pawtucket, was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, eluding police, resisting arrest, and driving without a license, Mullen said.
