LINCOLN — Police continue to hunt for a female suspect who robbed an undisclosed amount of money from the Navigant Credit Union, located at 185 Front St. in Lonsdale, early Tuesday afternoon.

Chief Brian Sullivan stated the suspect had been described as an African-American woman wearing a hat, though more details were being sought by detectives.
“She walked into the credit union at about 12:30 p.m., apparently approached a teller and demanded money, though we're not sure how much yet,” he said. “We do know that no weapon was shown, and she was last seen leaving the banking institution on foot. The direction is unknown at this time as well.
“We haven't had one of these in a while,” he added. “At this point, the Detective Division is looking into it, working with Navigant security. We haven't involved the State Police as of yet, but we've been in contact with other law enforcement agencies to see if they've had a similar occurrence.”
Sullivan indicated the approximate age of the suspect still was being determined. Anyone with information of the crime has been asked to immediately contact the Lincoln Police Department at (401) 333-8281.
