By DONNA KENNY KIRWAN PAWTUCKET — An early morning fire on Saturday that is being called “suspicious” displaced eight adults from a large multi-family house at 121-123 Magill Street.
Fire Chief Timothy McLaughlin said that firefighters responded to an emergency call at around 2:44 a.m. He said the three-alarm blaze started between the second and third floors. The fire burned the roof off completely and caused heavy damage to the entire third floor of the white, wood-frame house. McLaughlin said that eight adults who had been living in the lower level apartments were able to escape safely. They were assisted by the Rhode Island Red Cross with finding temporary lodging, he said. See FIRE, Page A-2 McLaughlin said the fire is considered to be suspicious and the cause is still being investigated by the State Fire Marshal's office. No one was injured fighting the fire. A spokesman for the Rhode Island Red Cross said that the adults were provided with shelter, food and clothing.
