PAWTUCKET -- Members of the Pawtucket Veterans Council are asked to assemble at Pawt. Veterans' Memorial Park, Roosevelt Ave. and Exchange St. on Monday, August 8, at 11 a.m. for Victory Day ceremonies.
Mayor Don Grebien, various city councilors, Brig. Gen Brian Goodwin and Daniel Evangelista, Chief, RI Office of Veterans' Affairs, are invited as well as the general public, especially veterans. Afterwards we have been invited to visit Gatchell VFW Post.
In case of inclement weather the 11 a.m. ceremony will be conducted inside that post. Music, wreath laying, poetry recital by Luanda Marie Machado and patriotic speeches are planned. Co-chairs are Moe Trottier and Capt. Jim Robbins. American Legion State Chaplain Jack Lucas will be master of ceremonies
