Veterans photo shoot set for May 21

May 11, 2011

Charles Iwuc is a World War II veteran. All area veterans are asked to show up for a May 21 photo shoot at the Clam Shell monument in Slater Park at 10 a.m.

Attention, area veterans:
The Times will be taking a group photo of area veterans on Saturday, May 21, at the Clam Shell Monument located at the Armistice Boulevard entrance to Slater Park. We will take the photo at 10 a.m. sharp so please show up 15 minutes early.
The photo will appear on the cover of our May 30 Memorial Day special section.
If we get a big crowd, we will also take separate photos of veterans from each of the following eras: World War Two, Korean War, Vietnam War, and Gulf War/Iraq/Afghanistan. You do not need to be a combat veteran. Anyone who served in the military is welcome to attend.
Please bring an old military cap or small flag to liven up our photo.
If you can attend, please call Terry Nau at 401-523-6928 so we can get an early estimate of the crowd. Remember, it's 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, at the Clam Shell.
Thanks in advance. We may also have a guest speaker as May 21 is Armed Forces Day.
