PAWTUCKET - Valentino Billeri, 90 of Pawtucket died Thursday at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket. He is survived by his wife Frances Billeri. Born in Norton, Massachusetts Valentino was the son of the late Frank and Rose (DiSanto) Billeri. He was a Pawtucket resident for most of his life.
Valentino graduated from the last class of Pawtucket High School in 1939 and entered the military in 1942. Valentino served in WWII where he fought in Sicily, Naples, Foggia, Rome, Arno, Rhineland and Central Europe. He received the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon with Bronze Service Arrowhead, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal.
Prior to his retirement he was employed by the Hindley Manufacturing Company for many years.
Beside his wife, Valentino is survived by two daughters, Rosemary Miller of Lincoln and Frances M. Rowell of Cranston; two grandchildren, Valarie Miller of Lincoln and James Rowell of Cranston, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Valentino is also the brother of the late Tino Billeri and Viola Billeri.
A funeral service will be held on Monday 10:00 a.m. at the Lachapelle Funeral Home, 643 Main Street, Pawtucket with calling hours prior to the funeral service from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
