PAWTUCKET — A man and woman who police say maintained two residences in the city where drugs and related paraphernalia were found were arrested Friday following an investigation by the Police Department's Special Squad.
According to Police Major Arthur Martins, on Oct. 4, members of the Special Squad executed two search warrants for two addresses, 10 George St., apartment 24 and 18 Dudley St., apartment 3. He said that evidence police recovered indicated that the couple had maintained tenancy at both apartments.
The investigation came about as a direct result of neighborhood complaints and other sources of information, Martins said.
Taken into custody were Manuel A. Divison, age 34, and Jennifer Erazo Vicente, 27.
From the George Street apartment, police allegedly seized 32.4 grams (1.14 ounces) of heroin, $3,080 in cash (to be submitted for forfeiture), and scales and packaging materials associated with the street level distribution of illegal drugs.
From the Dudley Street apartment, officers reportedly seized 1 gram of heroin, $11,719 in cash (to be submitted for forfeiture), and scales and packaging materials associated with the street level distribution of illegal drugs.
Both Divison and Vicente were charged with possession of heroin with intent to deliver/one ounce to one kilogram; maintaining a common nuisance/controlled substances, and distribution/manufacturing of controlled substances near a school.
Divison and Vicente appeared before a bail commissioner on Oct. 5. They were each held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions.
