Thomas J. McCarthy Sr
LINCOLN - Thomas J. McCarthy Sr., 65, of Betty St. passed away Thursday at home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Deborah A. (Palin) McCarthy.
Born in Pawtucket he was the son of the late Charles and Marion (Gallager) McCarthy Sr. He resided in Lincoln for the past 38 years.
Thomas was employed by the R.I. State Police and had worked out of the Wickford Barracks for 18 1/2 years until his retirement in 2012.
He was a communicant of St. Jude Church, Lincoln and was a member of the Laborers International Local 808.
Besides his wife he leaves two children, Thomas J. McCarthy Jr. and his wife Nicole of Plainfield, CT and Dawn M. McCarthy-Lane and her husband Michael of Poland, ME. He also leaves four sisters, Marion Perreira of Central Falls; Margaret Anderson of North Smithfield; Carol Migliaccio of North Kingstown and Kathleen Conroy of Berkley, MA, also five grandchildren Kaileigh, Ashley and Ryan McCarthy and Machenzie and Oliver Lane. He was also the brother of the late Charles McCarthy Jr., Francis, Joseph and Michael McCarthy and Geraldine Dolan.
A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rte. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Jude Church, Front St., Lincoln. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
