CUMBERLAND -Thomas C. Cox, 68, of Ronald Avenue, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Anne (Quinn) Cox, and they had been married for the past 47 years.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Donald and Jennie (DelMatio) Cox. He resided in Cumberland for the past 40 years, previously residing in Pawtucket.
Mr. Cox was the owner and operator of TOCO Express Inc. of Milford for the past 15 years retiring due to illness. He was previously was the owner of Star Wine Liquors of Pawtucket.
Tom enjoyed fishing, street rods and golf, but most of all enjoyed time in his backyard by the pool with his family.
Besides his wife, he leaves his son Gregory Cox and his wife Alisha of Narragansett, his daughter Shannon Cox and her companion Anthony Santilli of Cumberland, his brother Stephen Cox of Pawtucket; his mother-in-law May (Babe) Quinn; four grandchildren Jake, Julia, Cali and Cayden.
A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday at 10 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A prayer service will be held at 11 AM. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM.
