Shots fired into Pawtucket house

March 21, 2012

PAWTUCKET — Pawtucket Police are investigating an early morning incident on Wednesday in which shots were fired, damaging the outside of a house on Lucas Street.
Major Arthur Martins said that police were notified at around 12:30 a.m. that residents in the vicinity of Smithfield Avenue and Weeden Street in the city's Fairlawn section had heard an argument and the sound of gun shots being fired.
Martins said police found shell casings and that several bullets had struck the outside of a house at 15 Lucas St. However, he said it doesn't appear that the occupants of the house were the intended targets. No one was injured.
Martins said that when police arrived at the scene they found some people running around and learned that several vehicles had just fled. He said police are still conducting interviews and don't yet know what led to the shooting.
