Shirley A. Sharples
PAWTUCKET - Shirley A. Sharples, 81, of Pawtucket, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012. She was the beloved wife of Albert Sharples.
Born in Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of the late George and Annie (Mulaney) Smith. Shirley with her husband ran the Sharples Insurance Agency of Pawtucket for many years. She later became a Real Estate agent with the Sharples Agency, Pawtucket. She was a former member of the RI Board of Realtors. She was the former Mother of the Year with the Elks, Pawtucket Lodge. She also volunteered for many years at St. Leo the Great Church. Shirley also loved to travel.
Besides her husband, she is survived by five children, Donna, Kevin, Christopher, and Kerri Sharples and Jami McMahon, thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two nieces, and she also leaves her sister-in-law, Agnes (Sharples) Breault.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9am from the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Teresa of the Child Jesus Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of RI, 1210 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston, RI, 02920 or to Saint Teresa Church, would be appreciated.
