Sallie Ann Mulhern
PAWTUCKET- Mulhern, Sallie Ann (Gately) 75, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, in Providence. She was the loving wife of John F. Mulhern. They were married for 46 years.
Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Martin F and Sallie E. (Dunne) Gately.
She was a retail clerk for the former Sears & Roebuck; Ann & Hope, and Building 19 department stores for 35 years until her retirement.
Sallie was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket.
An avid reader, she was a volunteer at WaterFire Providence for 10 years. Sallie was an animal rights activist, and flew a piper colt plane solo in 1962.
Besides her husband, she leaves two children, John M. Mulhern, and his companion, Susan, of Pawtucket, and Christine A. (Mulhern) McCarthy, and her husband, Kenneth, of Warwick; and two granddaughters, Caitlin and Emily McCarthy.
Sallie's funeral will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 8:30 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, in Saint Mary Church, 103 Pine Street, Pawtucket. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, April 4th from 4:00 8:00 pm.
