Ruth F. Johnston
LINCOLN - Ruth F. (Pearson) Johnston, 93, a retired teacher and church musician, formerly of Iron Forge Road died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Scalabrini Villa, North Kingstown. She was the wife of the late William H. Johnston.
Born in Providence, the daughter of the late Clarence and Frances (Harkness) Pearson, she had lived in Lincoln since 1976, previously living in Central Falls and Pawtucket.
She was a graduate of Central Falls High School and R.I. College of Education, and was a teacher and music supervisor in the Central Falls School System for 36 years, retiring in 1976.
She was a communicant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Pawtucket where she was organist emerita, having served as organist and choir director for 51 years.
She was a member of the Pawtucket Girls Rainbow Alumnae, the Blackstone Valley Retired Teachers Association, the R.I. Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, and the Women's Guild and the Booster Club of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
She leaves her sister-in-law, Emily Boucher of Ashaway; her niece, Barbara Passarello and her husband, Chris of Ashaway; her nephew, David Boucher and his wife, Stacie of Kauai, Hawaii; one great nephew and two great nieces.
Her Requiem Eucharist will be held MONDAY, JULY 8 at 11 A.M. in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 50 Park Place, Pawtucket. Burial will be in Moshassuck Cemetery, Central Falls.
